The most efficient operating temperature for a wood burning stove is between 230-475 Farenheit. If your stove is burning at over 475 Fahrenheit you could run the risk of igniting a chimney fire, or if it is operating under 230 Farenheit it will be wasting energy so you may have to change the type of fuel you are burning or adjust the valves on your stove.
